Analysts were exporting to spreadsheets because the product could not answer their questions. Every screen showed everything, so nothing stood out.
Twelve contextual interviews later we rebuilt navigation around four jobs instead of nineteen modules and designed a density system that lets each user choose how much they see. CSV exports fell by two thirds.
